There is a new production line of German talent hoping to lead the country to future glory.
Earlier this month, Germany manager Joachim Low told Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng they would no longer be considered for future squads.
The trio were crucial to Germany’s 2014 World Cup triumph, with Muller ending the tournament with five goals, one short of Golden Boot winner James Rodriguez.
Low said: “2019 is the year of the new start for the German national team.
“We want to give the team a new face and I am convinced that this is the right step.
“The young national players will have the space they need to fully develop, and now they have to take responsibility.”

Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen)

Caps: 3
The attacking midfielder has made 79 appearances in the Bundesliga since his debut in October 2016.
Following Mesut Ozil’s international retirement last summer, Havertz is set for a long stay in Low’s future squads.
He’s also been linked with replacing Ozil at club level too with Arsenal reportedly interested in signing him .
Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig)
Age: 22
Caps: 1
Klostermann made his senior debut in Germany’s 1-1 draw with Serbia on Wednesday.
Joshua Kimmich’s midfield role under Low has presented Klostermann with a chance to make the right-back position his own.
He has been part of a solid RB Leipzig defence which has conceded a league-best of just 20 goals this season.
Thilo Kehrer (Paris Saint-Germain)
Age: 22
Caps: 5
Kehrer joined Paris Saint-Germain in a £33million deal from Schalke last summer.
His versatility to play as a centre-half or right-back has seen him make 29 appearances so far.
His error led to Romelu Lukaku’s opener in PSG’s Champions League last-16 second leg defeat to Manchester United, but on the whole, he has impressed in France.
Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen)
Age: 23
Caps: 5
Tah was included in Low’s Euro 2016 squad after replacing the injured Antonio Rudiger, but left at home for last summer’s World Cup.
He is likely to be a starter at Euro 2020 and asked permission to take the No.5 shirt Mats Hummels wore for the national team, which he was granted.
The Leverkusen youngster
Niklas Sule (Bayern Munich)
Age: 23
Caps: 17
Sule is proving his worth in a Bayern Munich having moved from Hoffenheim 2017, don’t let his bulky frame deceive you, he’s a fine centre-back.
He can play in the middle of defence, left-back and as a defensive midfielder such is his versatility and his ability on the ball.
Learning off a pro like Hummels will only make him a better player going forward.
Maximilian Eggestein (Werder Bremen)
Age: 22
Caps: 0
Midfielder Eggestein is still waiting to make his senior debut after being called up to the national squad this month.
With Ilkay Gundogan and Toni Kroos regulars under Low, he might have to bide his time before making an impact at international level.
Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen)
Age: 22
Caps: 24
Brandt, who turned down a move to Liverpool in 2017, is being linked with a summer transfer to Anfield again.
Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in the tricky winger, who has bagged nine Bundesliga assists this season.
He is a trusted member of Low’s squad already and was the man who went to the World Cup ahead of Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.
Leroy Sane (Manchester City)
Age: 23
Caps: 18
Last season’s PFA Young Player of the Year was controversially omitted from Germany’s 2018 World Cup squad – and he was desperately missed as they were knocked out in the group stages.
He returned to the national squad last August and has been playing regularly under Low.
He could light up Euro 2020.
